Online Class + (optional) Field Trip: Ducks - Colorful, Underappreciated Birds of Washington 2026

Just another Mallard?!! Time to get your ducks in a row - this class is for you! We are spoiled for ducks in Washington! So much diversity, so many bold patterns, and so many unique life histories! And they are great birds for beginners, being plentiful and easily visible. And ducks are not as easy as you may think - the females offer plenty of challenges for the intermediate birder! Can you spot the lone female Gadwall amongst all the Mallards? Never take your ducks for granted again! Field Trip Details: We'll meet at Log Boom Park in Kenmore to look for freshwater species, then zoom over to Edmonds for salt water ducks. There may be time to visit the Edmonds Marsh in case there are any ducks we may be missing from our experience list for the day. Carpooling from Log Boom is available, but not required.
