Neighborhood Bird Outing: Lincoln Park

Neighborhood Bird Outings are open to all with no pre-registration required. Group size will vary. Outings occur rain or shine, though will be canceled for dangerous weather conditions. Please leave pets at home. Leaders: Penny Bolton (she/her) and Jen Yu (she/her) Meeting Point: 9am North Parking lot sign board. Bike Parking: bike racks in park Trip Accessibility: 1B. Mix of paved paths and dirt paths. Stairs and steep trail between the waterfront trail and woodland trail. Lincoln Park in West Seattle is a premier birding hotspot with over 160 species reported, featuring a mix of forest, beach, and Sound habitats. Key sightings include nesting Barred Owls, Downy Woodpeckers, Bald Eagles, Ravens, and marine birds like various Grebes and Gulls. We will take our time listening and looking at birds and learn more about some of the native plants in the park. Our route will be about 1.8 miles and will cover the waterfront as well as the forest. Kids are welcome with an accompanying adult. The leader is happy to have questions from kids and adults! No dogs, please.
