Birding Vacation: Orcas Island Fall 2026

Field Trips

This trip is at capacity. Please register for the wait list https://secure.birdsconnectsea.org/a/bvorcas26 This October, join us for an Island adventure as our next Birding Vacation takes on Orcas Island! Why visit the San Juans in October, you say? Fall is known by locals as the most magical time of year in its slower pace, gorgeous autumn colors, crisp morning air, and plenty of opportunities for viewing returning migrant shorebirds and waterfowl! It doesn't get more Pacific Northwest than this: a ferry ride through the San Juans, lodging at the charming Outlook Inn located in the heart of cozy Eastsound, quiet mornings spent spotting Pacific Loons at North Beach, birds eye perspective of the island as we enjoy lunch from the top of Mount Constitution, afternoons spent adventuring through the diverse habitats the Island has to offer, then topping it all off with delicious dinners at independent eateries featuring island sourced produce! This trip is intentionally curated to provide you with community, beauty, and adventure. Bond with new friends as we discover the treasures that Orcas has to offer. Your participation helps support the conservation work of Birds Connect Seattle.
