Neighborhood Bird Outing: LGBTQIA+ Birding at Marymoor Park

Neighborhood Bird Outings are open to all with no pre-registration required. Group size will vary. Outings occur rain or shine, though will be canceled for dangerous weather conditions. Please leave pets at home. Leader: Casey Herrick (she/her), Denning Gillespie (they/them), and Jules Stanley (she/her) - NextGen Council Members Meeting Point: Marymoor Park Parking Lot G. 6046 West Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast, Redmond, Washington 98052. $1 to park. Bike Parking: Yes, next to the start of the trail. (they're heron shaped!) Trip Accessibility: 1 (leisurely pace), B (soft ground, dirt). We will walk at a leisurely pace on mostly flat terrain and cover a distance of around ~2 miles. There are bathrooms at the start and midway through our walk. Hello fellow Queer Birders! We will be birding this time at Marymoor Park. Considered one of the birding hotspots of the East side, Marymoor Park features views of Lake Sammamish, the Sammamish river trail, and a diverse population of birds. Our path will take us through an Audubon Bird Loop trail, which is mostly gravel roads with some paved paths and boardwalks as well. Our path will take us into the off leash dog park at Marymoor, so prepare to be in the presence of dogs. This walk is geared specifically for everyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ and of any level of birding experience is welcome.
